Device Already Exists When Registering Device First Time

"Device already in use..."


At times, devices can receive this message when registering for the first time. Follow the steps below to resolve.


Check if the device is showing as "Unassigned"

  1. Navigate into the isofy admin dashboard for your location
  2. Select "Devices" > "Unassigned"
  3. Find the device, either by name or MAC address
  4. Select the device
  5. Select "Add Device"
  6. Assign the device to the member
  7. Click "Add" button

If the device is not showing in the unassigned devices tab, check that random MAC address is disabled on the device using the steps in this related help article.
