How to Reset a User's Password

Modified on Wed, 15 Oct at 8:39 AM

As an administrator, you may need to reset a user's password. This guide will walk you through when and how to do it from the admin dashboard.

When to Use This Guide

Resetting the user's password is the correct solution for several common issues:

  • Login Errors: A new user reports seeing errors like "authentication failed" or "error 500" when trying to connect to the captive portal. This often happens because they were invited but never completed their account setup.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Members: On the left-hand panel of your admin dashboard, click on Users, then select Members.

  2. Search for the User: In the search field provided, type the email address of the user whose password you need to reset.

  3. Select the User: Click on the user's name or entry in the search results to open their profile.

  4. Send Password Reset Link: Scroll down the user's profile page until you find the option labeled "Send password reset link." Click on this.

  5. User Receives Email: The user will immediately receive a password reset email sent from no-reply@isofy.net.

Important Note: To ensure the user successfully receives the password reset email in their inbox, please advise them to whitelist the email address @isofy.net with their mail provider.
