Member vs. Guest Wi-Fi Differences
Our network offers two types of Wi-Fi access designed for specific user needs. The Member Network is secure and optimized for work, while the Guest Network is for basic, temporary internet access.
Member Network (Corporate/Private VLAN)
This is the secure, primary network designed for our paying customers.
Feature | Details | Importance |
Users | Paying customers of the co-working space and staff. | Enables full access to the office infrastructure. |
Access & Control | Members can add and edit their own devices via the user dashboard. | Provides self-service device management. |
Network Type | Can be connected to the general Members VLAN or a Private VLAN (if requested). | Supports secure, dedicated tenant spaces. |
Performance | High-speed, optimized for stability and throughput. | Ideal for video calls, large file transfers, and mission-critical work. |
Access to Resources | Yes. Can connect to registered printers, IP phones, and internal resources. | Essential for core business functions. |
Security | Devices are not isolated from others on the local network. | Allows for printing and local resource sharing. |
Guest Network
This network is provided for visitors who are not paying customers and need limited internet access.
Feature | Details | Importance |
Users | Visitors or temporary users. | Provides quick, temporary access. |
Access & Control | Can only connect to the general Guests VLAN. | Restricts access to one public-facing network. |
Performance | Speed-limited (throttled). | Suitable only for basic browsing and email. |
Access to Resources | No. Cannot access printers or internal resources. | Protects the security of the Member network. |
Security | Devices are completely isolated from all other devices. | Enhances overall network security and privacy. |
Key Takeaway
For any work-related task, especially printing or using other internal resources, members must be connected to the secure Member/Corporate Network with a registered device.
