Static IP Address Request

Modified on Wed, 15 Oct at 12:16 PM

A Static IP address is a fixed, permanent address assigned to a device, which is necessary for certain services like accessing internal servers or setting up security cameras. Most standard member devices use dynamically assigned IP addresses.

Here is the procedure for requesting a static IP address.

Procedure and Approval Process

  1. Submit Request: To request a static IP, please provide the following details to the support team:

    • Member's Name and Email: Who the device belongs to.

    • Device Type: (e.g., Server, Printer, Camera, etc.).

    • MAC Address: The unique physical address of the device.

    • Reason: A brief explanation of why a static IP is required.

  2. Network Services Approval: The request will be sent to our Network Services team for review and approval.

  3. Provide IP Details: Once the configuration is complete, the Network Services team will provide the static IP address, subnet mask, and gateway details back to you.

Member Configuration

The final step requires action from the member:

  • Manual Setup: The member (or their IT representative) must manually configure their device's network settings to use the specific static IP address provided by the Network Services team.

Note: If the device is not manually configured with the reserved static IP, it will remain on a dynamic address, and the request will not be fulfilled.
